I don't understand why Celie doesn't just leave Mr_____. She could live a way better life with out him. All he is doing is holding her back. I think Celie is scared to leave him but in the end it would help her a lot.

"I ast him to take me instead of Nettie while our new mammy sick"
I think Celie is very strong mentally because of how hard her life is because of Mr _____ . I'm surprised she is still alive even with all the stuff that is happening to her.
Why is the family still allow Mr____ to be in their lives.

Root words about Dakota culture
I think the title makes sense because the shape of the poem shows hot the roots are the biggest part. The poem really shows the great culture of the Dakota and how the plants they grew were so important to them and they appreciated them.
"Yam, the king of crops, was a very exacting king,"
1. This metaphor talks that the yam is the most important crop and that its more important than than the cocoa yam or cassava. It also lets the reader understand that its a very hard crop to grow and that only some (the men) are capable of growing it.
2. This reveals that the Igbo culture is patriarchal in that they only believe that men are capable of growing this prestigious crop, where as women should be growing cocoa yams and cassava.
A. My first reaction was its a little gross to be eating grass hoppers.
B.I know that eating insects is very healthy for you and that they have a lot of protein.
C. My attitude towards eating insects is still really gross to me. I don't understand why you wouldn't just eat normal food. I understand that they have protein but its still super gross.
